Are the rear brakes off an MB6 a straight fit onto a 96 spec dc2?

I want to do the 262mm rear brake conversion, but need to know if the calipers and discs will be a straight fit

As far as know it won't fit mate as the MB6 rear calipers are different.

The other two options that I know will work are using UKDM/JDM 98 spec rear calipers OR using MG ZS180 rear calipers. Hope that helps mate :)

Thanks mate, I do remember hearing/reading somewhere that the calipers/carriers woulnd't fit the dc2 arms but just needed some confirmation, would I need the relevant carriers to go with the calipers?

I don't think there would be any issues in using the MB6 discs (rear)?

Yep you will need the relevant carriers to go with the calipers mate. Don't try using 98 spec carriers etc on 96 spec calipers as it won't work because the new pads are larger and won't fit as I already try it myself lol.

Anyways using mb6 rear disc on the teg are fine. If you want more help, there is a guide on mcr-vtec forum 

that's exactly what I was looking for I remember reading that a while back, but couldnt remember where I'd seen it....Thanks mate

Just a little confused now, so I can use my current rear calipers (standard 96 spec ones) just need ek9/98 spec/mg zs carriers and mb6 discs and pads? if so that will save a lot of time and makes it such an easy conversion...

Nah mate you can't use 96 spec calipers with ek9/98 spec/mg zs carriers, I have already tried that method before and it doesn't work. Just get a new set of calipers/carriers ;)

you need the calipers and carriers of any of the following, uk itr, 98 spec jdm itr, ek9 or the mgzs, cause you are still going to be running the 4x114 of the 96 spec teg you use the disks of the mb6 or the mgzs, pads are easy you buy them for whatever calipers you get

Check my build up mate cos I did this to my dc2, the fronts are bolt on to the ITR hubs, the rears I used the mb6 discs, the mb6 rear calipers, and MG ZS180 carriers.

MB6, ek9, ukdm/98 spec ITR, ZS180 all have the same rear caliper, it's just the mb6 randomly has a different carrier.

Adding a twist on this, I think integrastella does modified DC5 rear calipers or can tell you (and sell you dc5) rear calipers..

Thanks guys, I just read somewhere that the 96 spec rear calipers will mate onto the ek9/98 spec carriers? I'm gonna give it a go tommorow and see how it goes
