I bought a new acoustic and Re-strung my 7 string! Custom yamaha is in desperate need of a re-string too but find myself playing drums more recently haha even if it is just Snare, Bass, Hats its still awesome making beats.

Good to see people still playing! I left my band before christmas, and picked up for the first time in weeks. Jammed the southern blues and go the harmoncia out for bit.

Going to be learning some more intrumentals to keep my chops up i think!

I bought new strings and picks. Restrung the Richwood last night and found a rusty bridge :( Goodness knows how, it's kept snugly in its case with a couple sachets of silica gel?

I did give the new strings a good work out for a couple hours after though :)

Jim you left your band? We should start a new one! :P

While I think of it, the top nut/bridge needs replacing on my Pacifica as the bottom E keeps slipping out. Can I just buy a new one or will I have to find someone to repair it? I wouldn't mind replacing it with a locking one.

I've never had to do a top nut myself, but it's fairly simple from what I gather. (Jap axes ftw y0!)

Test the intonation aswell with the old ruler trick. Adjsut accordingly, adjust the bridge if you have to and stretch them strings! You mentioned that you got rust, so might have warped a bit. you dont keep it near a window/radiatior do you man?

Nope! It's annoying but doesn't affect their sound. I'll have a scout round for a new top nut then and see what I can do. May as well pop in an EMG and a couple Seymour Duncans while I'm at it :P

Stick clear of the EMG's man. Unless you're going heavy. They suck mids like a dyson.

That's why I've got Duncans in my Ibanez and The Charvels got Dimazios. CRUNCH.

my Yamaha has a Tone-Zone F Dimarzio in the bridge, Lovely pick-up for various sounds! and Got some Seymour Duncans in my 7String and thats awesome! Granted i generally play tech / prog metal on em, But they handle the "nice stuff" really well too! and as you know techy / prog metal is alot less harsher sound anyway than alot of metal!!

If your in the market for something special though check out all the different pick-ups these guys make. http://www.bareknuck...ckup=rebel_yell

I'd quite happily put tone zone's in all my guitars.

Seeing as there is quite a few people playing on here, we should get some musical banter going.

Something like, record a vid of a cheesey cover, stick it up and the proceed to laugh at each other. It's been ages since I've recorded anything!

I have no recording equipment..

I'll steer clear of emgs and check out Neil's link when I'm home then! Anyone ever used those single size humbuckers? If I do ever get round to changing the Yamahas pickups I wouldn't mind having one in the bridge if they're any good?

Wanna get back into it cos it's probably the most relaxing thing you can do.

I been playing the guitar for about 8 yrs on and off, like most on here, cars came along and I stopped.

But recently picked it up again, I never been amazing , I just enjoy playing . I also like the drums too .

I have a 30-40yr les Paul copy and about the same age amp which is crap lol. Also a axl tiger pro whatever that is ??

I've had a fair few guitars too , including fender strat and tele . Also a blue see thru telecaster that weighed a tonne !

I want to get an acoustic guitar when I can afford one as I'm enjoying playing chords etc

:)
