Why the actual fuck would you spend 3k on insurance if you've lied about stuff ? Surely as you've said you don't mind paying a lot you would have declared mods :/
Not being funny but I hope you get caught out to teach you a lesson , everyone tries to cheat insurance and it has the complete opposite effect in the long run ,
On a second note ... I fucking hate insurance .. Period

I haven't declared modifications on any of my cars for the last 4 years for the reason that the change in price makes no sense compared to the modification that has been done, they really are pissing into the wind.

So I can understand why people neglect to tell their insurers; if insurance was sensibly priced there would be less people lying.

Of course I'm 23 now so my insurance is cheaper than a half decent hooker, mods n all :P

i've always declared mods....just read far too many horror stories

also, the cops down this way are really clued up on cars! i know a couple of people who've had Redtop Corsas impounded cos they never declared the engine!

That's where I come from with cars, you modify it to make it faster. All the other stuff is for scene kids, yeah nice wheels and some small asthetic mods, but some of these things are completley over the top, just to win points within a scene or culture, thats a bit gay IMO and people will only grow out of it with time.

It was the same 10 years ago with the big body kits and clear lights, that was the fashion back then, and this is the fashion right now. Either way, its RICE.

Saint grim , if people hadn't lied first then insurance would still be fairly priced , although I do agree they just pick numbers from random and slap huge prices on ppl which in some cases doesn't seem right , but it seems we have all been tarnished with the same brush through other ppls neglect

Well like I said yesterday why should I pay hundreds more money as an hgv driver than an IT Consultant or a leisure centre attendant?

My car is garaged but declared on the street as a garaged car is £300 more??

The prices are random so I'm not going to tell the truth if that means I pay more than everyone else. £3k is the cheapest it will go with my postcode and first year of driving

Is it so expensive because it's a limited edition car?
How much is like a normal ek4?

3k is alot but if your happy to drive around in a car you love then by all means pay that much dude!!

Exactly my point mate, I'd prefer to spend my money driving a car I'm proud to own than save a few hundred

And I think that's the case mate, vti's and ek9's both appear marginally cheaper

ROFL...When I was doing online quotes for my Civic Coupe, they came back as being more expensive for a standard car than if I went to Adrian Flux and told them it was a 300hp turbo conversion jobby.
At the time it was £1100 for a standard car, and £900 for a modified version.
If you're wondering if the post above this signature is taking the piss......it probably is!

For the 11teenth billion time...S20 gearbox is 92-95, S40 is 96-2000.
Next person to claim S20 boxes are short ratios gets raped with a brick, ok?

Wonders if anyone actually read the text above this signature...

Leave the lad alone, if he wants to pay that to insure a car that he likes why not? im paying £2,750 on my t sport and im 21 and before that i was paying £2,350 on my old ej9!

insurance prices vary so much now days ,not all of us live in decent areas or have the no claims bonus to get cheaper insurance. Tom163 who lives down the road from me insured a mk1 focus rs a grand cheaper than i insured my civic ej9 because of the better area he lived in, he lives about 1 mile away on a nicer estate.

Oh and before everyone calls me an idiot for what im paying or did pay for the civic , why not pay it if you want to and can afford it?

I say fairplay to the lad for sticking to honda and paying that much, he obviously loves the car if hes willing to pay that much so leave him be and let him enjoy his jordan, i wish i had a jordan at 19 rather than the shitty ej9 i had and yes, i would of payed 3k to insure one

All the talk about declaring mods i say you should definitely declare.

Its a gamble that i lost on with my first car, didnt declare mods, police pull you over check the car check with insurance then you get raped!

Lost a lot of money from the insurers as it was voided on the spot and almost got done for fraud or something but managed to talk my way out of that one. Then theres the hassle of being stuck somewhere uninsured.

You live and you learn though, Brentacre have been brilliant for me, and visual mods are added for free too.
