At least once a day hey? Wow, you've tried loads!! :P

I bet there's hundreds of people on here that tried at least once every half an hour lol

Oh and WTG guys for getting it back up so quickly once you realised what the problem was. Good work :thumbs:

A black facelift has got to be the most expensive and classy combination that you can achieve with a 96-00 civic.

For anyone that cares, here is a quick run-down why the move to our own Amazon servers failed;
  • Installed PHP 5.3 as normal, (IPB requires PHP 5.2 and ABOVE)
  • Seperate MySQL server, worked a charm
  • Loaded CL and it required zend guard/optimizer
  • Only version of Zend that worked on PHP 5.3 was the latest 5.5 Guard release
  • Installed fine second time around
  • Zend version is too new for the version in which IPB was encoded in
Basically, what this means, is that you either need to downgrade to PHP 5.2 (which is a MASSIVE pain, and almost not possible). Or we downloaded the LATEST IPB and IP.Nexus release made for self hosted setups, but that means purchasing another license to what we already had.

Basically, IPS are epicly awful at anything they do and made the whole move a massive pain in the arse. This is on top of taking 4-5 hours to answer questions, leaving me randomly trying stuff on new server, which did work, but at 1am, shit got annoying.

We are now on IPS 'cloud'.

Some may be wondering what the fuck a cloud is?

Basically, you set up a server, can be anywhere in the world, and you can float your server between locations, or have two servers in seperate locations on the planet but still map them together. It means you have massive flexibility, and if you wanted, target different parts of the worlds to get decent download speeds, but also means you can very, very quickly swap a hard drive to another server and run there, should anything die on the server you was on.

The idea of a cloud is flexibility.

Will see how the IPS cloud works out, then go from there, sorry we couldn't get it to work on our servers, sadly through no fault of our own.
