Fixed bucket seat help

Hey! no doubt all going to laugh at me ... but anyway,

i have a fixed bucket seat its just one of the non branded style auto seats,

its a great seat but its just a little snug ( aka ive gotten fatter ) is there anyway i can widen this? by heating and spreading and let to cool. don't want to fire in and destroy it haha


any help ould be ace,

and the gym is on the list! haha

what is it made of chap? that'll have a big impact on what you can and cant do...

If its fiber glass mate i dont think there is any thing that can be done. not with out weakening or braking it. Im currently having this same prob with my clothes lol

Lol, spoke to a mate who runs a body shop he says he is going to try, applying very little head and spread it till cools , doing this tomorrow night! I'll let you all know if I still have a seat ! Lol

yeah i ain't really but for the sake of 10mm that will save the ball ache ill give it a go, cue a cheap seat coming for sale ;) haha

as said, went to my mates body shop,stripped the fabric and foam off, heated it up with heat gun cut wood that was about 50mm bigger that the gap betweeen the sides that where tight, as i am only needing about 10 mm and out thoughts where that it will spring back, cooled with water and i have gained about 15 mm in width and seat is all in one peace, the gel coat needs painting as with the heat,

seat is still rigid and in one peace, so no seat for sale yet! lol
