medickly..
That wasnt me btw..that was the OP :P

To be fair there are heaps of dangerous drivers out there. Sitting in the passenger seat of a car with someone who intentionly is driving dangerously really gets to me due to thier complete lack of concideration to me,and other innocent road users who are bearing the brunt of it. Simply because they are doing 38 in a 40 and not going flat out.

Personaly I wouldnt want to be the person who has to tell thier family why thier mum/dad/bro ect wont be coming home tonight because I was driving like a twat and killed them.

Some of my mates actually ask me why i dont boost so much when they are in the car - simples, i only give it some if the roads are empty and im on my own, if i crash - burn - and die its all me.

couldnt bare to think that i could potentially harm someone else

also i think the retests are a great idea, or at least medical examinations - eyes, hearing etc. as many people who dont have great eyesight etc. dont even realise it til they stick on a set of glasses made for them!!

Retested for everyone IMO

Also think its dangerous as aearner you aren't allowed near a motorway. Then once passed its bam.
Go drive on a road like no other with insane speeds and cars all around you like no other.

No wonder 95% of this country has no lane discipline. They have just guessed how to drive on them!

A polish lad i work with frequently says how easy it is to pass your driving test here, he has his UK license but doesn't want to be anywhere near the roads lol.

i think the driving system here is diabolical! like said motorways should be part of a driving lesson/test so that noone stays in the middle lane cause that annoys the shit out of me!

I totally agree, there should be some sort of a retest once a driver hits 60. A vast majority of the older generation's observation skills and reaction times are drastically reduced due to age and health related problems.
I'm not saying that it remains exclusive to the older driver either, in my opinion there are many people that should never have been given a license in the first place, but age related problems become very common in the older generation.

some sort of re testing should be necessary i feel

had a lotus on its way in to the bodyshop anyway, an old boy drove in to the side of it, then turned out he drove in to another car 2 hours later!
some people just should not be driving.

i agree with haggis's point though about the elderly not knowing they are driving dangerously but the young ones do.
