A black facelift has got to be the most expensive and classy combination that you can achieve with a 96-00 civic.

buy an mx5, weld the diff and get £200 coilovers off ebay. The 1,8s are considerably better, youll do 2nd gear in the dry no problem and 3rd if you have the balls/speed, too.

so much crap in this thread.
^^THIS^^

If I were the OP id go for a S14 (I know he said he doesnt want one ect) The SR20 is a half decent motor and certainly better than my CA!

Strip it, flog the interior, get a 2nd hand cage, some comfy buckets and harness`s, an awesome steering wheel, weld the diff, slam it, skid it!

Parts are so easy to obtain from the likes of Driftworks, SXOC ect and are well priced as the s14 is a common skider.

Search about and youll come across a well priced one.

Personaly I think above all if your serious about this then your gunna have to be prepared to open your wallet whatever car you get.

R33 Skyline GTST, dunno what they're like for drifting though, and they are a little over your budget.

if you could find an E36 328i Sport, they come with an LSD as standard....so a nice set of suspension would see you sorted!

they have the stronger block that doesn't break with the UK petrol (the nikasil thing)

although they are harder to come across, which as a result makes them more expensive

That's where I come from with cars, you modify it to make it faster. All the other stuff is for scene kids, yeah nice wheels and some small asthetic mods, but some of these things are completley over the top, just to win points within a scene or culture, thats a bit gay IMO and people will only grow out of it with time.

It was the same 10 years ago with the big body kits and clear lights, that was the fashion back then, and this is the fashion right now. Either way, its RICE.

the 328 sport doesnt actually come with an lsd, it was only an optional extra. i know i have one. i would gladly part with it too, although it being rather nice to drive even though its on coilies and polybushed, i cannot afford to get any points for skidding around like a lunatic, and with my luck i WILL get caught. has enough power to skid without and welded diff so im pretty sure it would go a bit better with one, just gott have the balls to hit the corner with enough speed to spin 3rd.
