I need a 2nd quick cheap car for me and my wife. Ideal a civic vti but cant insure one with my missus.
Looking at 106gti or a clio 172 cup. Anyone had any. The 106 is about 800 quid cheaper on average. Any thoughts as to which?

106 gti's ARE fast, but if you really want a barry pug 106 then that's your choice i guess?

I suspect a clio would be alot more of a nicer place to be in, not TOO many about (certainly not as many as pugs) and the power is also great on them.

I say the clio tbh, 106's are gay.

What's you actually price range? As I've just looked on pistinheads and they both go for between 2 and 5k??

In standard form I prefer the 106. Clios are fugly IMO. But both cars look very Barry with the slightest bit of mods on them!

Maybe. It in your budget, but in the same ish car group. Id had a lupo gti. Awesome little dailys.

Driving position in clios is terrible for me [6 foot 4]. I do see a yellow one every day though and it looks realy really smart.

Never been in a 106 GTi or Saxo VTS so can't comment on that. I know they're rapid for what they are though. Just make sure you can put your feet on the pedals.

Ive had a 106 gti before and was a huge laugh. Near me theres one for 1200 quid that 70k miles. And theres a clio nearby at 1800 quid with50000 miles. They both quick no doubts about that. But 106 had bad interior.
