Because Honda don't make good cars anymore.

A black facelift has got to be the most expensive and classy combination that you can achieve with a 96-00 civic.

New cars are shit. Too focused on safety, requirements/regulations, emissions, etc...

Purely cost and a hobby, if i gave up on dicking about on my car then I'd just drive a standard civic (an old one) and spent the money on other things not a newer car.
You've got to love the satisfaction of your own work and the sence of achivement espically when you get possitive comments from people.

i used o agree with all of you about owning an old civic but after owning a newer car id never go back to having an old civic as a daily, maybe for a track toy.

i only got a newer more reliable car because of work, thinking id not mod it or anything but you just cant resist. So to anyone whos thinking 'rather than modding my 10 year old civic il save and buy an ep3 , dc5 etc and keep it standard because its a good car already'. It just doesnt happen haha you might as well carry on with your old civic and make it mint :)

if id of not got my corolla my civic would have been b18'd by now and looking mint, wish id of kept it sometimes tbh oh and old cars are soooo much cooler than new cars!

My car is my hobby, every new part/upgrade gives me the fun of fitting it and then the fun of pushing my car and seeing the improvement. New cars seem less reliable and have very poor build quality compared to the older ones that are 'basic' but built properly. As time passes and more parts gets replaced it will eventually be 'new' anyway. it gives me a sense of achievement that the car is built to my ideas and is unique thanks to my hard work and that of my friends. The icing on the cake for me is finding a car worth 30k +, allowing the driver to look down his nose at my 12 year old civic, then wiping the smile off his face :) l

I find 90's cars much more interesting and Im not really interest in that many newer cars (within my budget!!). Its a hobby fixing/modifying our cars and there pretty rare! I think I've only seen one other coupe around my area since I bought mine in december, and only a handful of ek's while I was driving the ej9! Theres nothing better than the feeling you get when you step back to look at new parts you've just fitted and the compliments you get from other people when you take it to meets
