Hi guys and girls,

Thank you to everyone who donated this month, we have met our £220 goal for February's server bill. Woop!

I have now setup a goal for March's server bill, if you are wondering why it has gone back to £0.

Obviously, we are not going to full rely on donations to fund CL's running costs. Some of you may of heard on the other news thread, that we have a new member to the team, his name is Dan Cryer and he works for IPS (Invision Power Services - the people that host and built this forum). He has offered his expertise in this area, to setup connections with advertisers and other big companies including Honda UK themselves, to help fund the site in the way of banner advertising.
He has also came up with some good ways to make money if we were to start a premium membership pack for members, just to clear up as well, having a membership scheme wont mean the forum will get locked down, it just means premium members would get more than what free members get. So you won't miss anything you currently have

Once again, thank you all for your support and kind comments regarding CL, it really means a lot and gives me confidence in keeping the site up and running

Woohoo! one thing you could do is a road trip in the summer, where evryone who attends donates a bit to help out the club, and has a fun day out! just an idea!!

If we were to do it, the premium membership pack would probably include:

- Hiding all of the adverts on the site.
- A separate group, with a badge or something.
- A special "premium members" forum.
- Listing on a page somewhere on the site.

Before we'd consider it though, we'd want to think of something more interesting to include to actually make it worthwhile.

I can't help but notice that March's donation goal is still set at £220, yet above it is an advert which surely generates revenue, and therefore would reduce the monthly donations needed?

Adverts are only going to generate revenue is members click on the link and buy something from that advertisers website, we wont earn money just by members clicking the link. We don't have any scope on how much money adverts will generate until we wait a month or 2. It is going to be a slow process to begin with.

Any money that is left over from donations will go towards other community improvements, first port of call will probably be a greater collection of merchandise available that we will design, mainly t-shirts and other clothing.

The more money the community can generate as a whole, the better the community can be, we can organise track days, shows, etc. All of which cost money, so any help is appreciated in all areas

We will be offering premium membership very soon, so dont worry, removal of ads will be part of the membership
