Hey guys

Just thought I would write you all a message to apologise for the crappy banner adverts. You may remember previously we had Tesco, Play.com banners before. These banners worked on a commission based system, where we would get a cut on any products purchased when I user visits the site via the banner advert. However, we only made a couple of quid over a month period, which isn't acceptable.

So in an effort to try make more money, we are trialling a different system. The current banners work by giving money just for displaying them on the site, which in the long run could make us a lot of money. However, we haven't set the specifics up for the banners that we want displayed, hence why we are just getting the bottom of the barrel adverts at the moment.

Please bare with us, while we work on providing more relevant banner adverts, so they are not as annoying as they are at the moment.

Now a few of you may be concerned that these banner adverts get in the way of your normal browsing of CivicLife. Don't worry, we have a system in place to help  As part of the premium membership pack that we will be offering, one of the key features will be removal of banner adverts, you will be pleased to know :)

So again people, I apologise for this crappy period, and want to reassure you that we will be resolving this issue asap!

Thanks

Steve :meditate:

Ps. Please keep your donations coming in, even the smallest amount really helps us fund the server costs  Thank you to everyone that has donated so far! Much appreciated! B)

Poom, what you've done for Civiclife over the past year and way before that speaks for itself - hence why you have such a large amount of traffic. We know you're good for making this site run smooth so a few iffy banners won't worry long term members too much :P

You just carry on being a beast of an admin and get this site funding itself and not eating away at your bank B)
